Summary:
The Insurance Coordinator is responsible for providing administrative support to the insurance department. This includes tasks such as:
- Processing insurance claims
- Maintaining insurance records
- Answering insurance-related questions
- Scheduling insurance appointments
- Arranging for insurance coverage
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process insurance claims, such as verifying eligibility, gathering documentation, and submitting claims to insurance companies.
- Maintain insurance records, such as tracking claims, monitoring premiums, and updating policy information.
- Answer insurance-related questions from customers, employees, and other stakeholders.
- Schedule insurance appointments, such as doctor’s visits, hospital stays, and other medical procedures.
- Arrange for insurance coverage, such as contacting insurance companies, reviewing policies, and negotiating rates.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or insurance role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of the insurance industry and various insurance policies.
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
