Summary:
The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the procurement process for a company or organization. This includes tasks such as:
- Identifying and sourcing suppliers
- Negotiating contracts
- Managing inventory
- Tracking spending
- Ensuring compliance with regulations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and source suppliers, developing and maintaining relationships with vendors.
- Negotiate contracts, ensuring that the company gets the best possible price and terms.
- Manage inventory, ensuring that the company has the right amount of products on hand at the right time.
- Track spending, ensuring that the company stays within its budget.
- Ensure compliance with regulations, such as those related to environmental or ethical standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices and regulations.
