Summary:
The Transport Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the transportation department. This includes tasks such as scheduling drivers, dispatching vehicles, and ensuring that all transportation activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner. The Transport Supervisor also works with other departments to ensure that the company’s transportation needs are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule drivers and dispatch vehicles.
- Ensure that all transportation activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitor driver performance and safety records.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment for safety and compliance.
- Work with other departments to ensure that the company’s transportation needs are met.
- Prepare reports on transportation activities and costs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in transportation or a related field.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety procedures.
Physical Demands:
The Transport Supervisor is required to sit for long periods of time, as well as parabolan cycle occasionally stand, walk, and lift light objects.
