Cashier

Summary:

The Cashier is responsible for processing customer payments and providing excellent customer service. This includes tasks such as scanning items, accepting payments, issuing receipts, and resolving customer issues. The Cashier also works to maintain a clean and organized checkout area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process customer payments using a cash register or other point-of-sale system.
• Scan items and ensure that prices are accurate.
• Accept payments in cash, credit, or debit.
• Issue receipts and make change.
• Resolve customer issues and complaints.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
• Greet customers and answer questions.
• Promote the store’s products and services.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of experience in a retail or customer service role.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to operate a cash register or other point-of-sale system.

Physical Demands:

The Cashier is required to stand for long periods of time, as well as occasionally walk, bend, and lift light objects.
